Ms. Freeburg practices with the individual clients group concentrating in estate planning, estate administration and tax planning.
She advises individuals and families on the techniques available to preserve wealth and achieve testamentary goals in the most tax efficient manner and prepares customized documents to accomplish these goals. She counsels families through the probate, tax and transfer requirements resulting from the death of a family member. She regularly appears in the Connecticut Probate Courts and the New York Surrogate's Courts.
Ms. Freeburg has served as an associate editor of the Fordham Urban Law Journal, assistant editor of Insights and Strategies, a monthly estate planning newsletter and as a contributing author to "Handling Federal Estate and Gift Taxes", 6th edition. She is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut and the U.S. Tax Court. She is a member of the Greenwich, Fairfield County and Connecticut Bar Associations and has volunteered her services to the Greenwich Probate Court. She has served on the Board of the Putnam Indian Field School and the Board at the YWCA of Greenwich. She has volunteered in numerous capacities at the Brunswick School and as a United Way community investment committee volunteer. Currently, Ms. Freeburg serves on the Planned Giving Professional Advisory Committee of AmeriCares Foundation, Inc. of Stamford, Connecticut.
In 2012 Ms. Freeburg was a recipient of the YWCA BRAVA Award, recognizing outstanding women achievers who excel at their profession and who also volunteer their time to help others. The Greenwich Bar Association awarded Ms. Freeburg the Robert G. Krause Probate Pro Bono Award in 2014. In 2016 and 2017 she was named an Estate Planning and Probate SuperLawyer® for New England.
